Who we are

Wellness that sees the whole person

Three Wave Wellness Association is a Black-led organization dedicated to advancing mental health, healing, and collective wellness within Black communities.

Our mandate is to create and strengthen culturally grounded pathways to wellness that reflect the histories, identities, knowledge, strengths, and lived experiences of the communities we serve.

Our mission

To cultivate culturally grounded spaces where Black people and communities can experience healing, strengthen wellness, deepen connection, and thrive.

Our vision

Thriving Black communities where culture, connection, healing, and wellness are woven into everyday life.

Mandate

We recognize that Black wellness is shaped not only by individual experiences, but also by culture, community, history, and the social conditions in which people live. Our work acknowledges the ongoing impacts of anti-Black racism, historical and intergenerational trauma, grief, inequitable systems, and barriers to culturally relevant mental health care.

Through mental health and wellness services, culturally grounded programming, education, community initiatives, capacity building, and partnerships, Three Wave Wellness works to expand access to meaningful supports while creating opportunities for Black communities to heal, connect, grow, and thrive.

Mission

Through mental health and wellness services, education, community programming, and collaborative initiatives, we centre Black voices, lived experience, cultural identity, and community knowledge in how wellness supports are imagined, developed, and delivered.

We believe wellness is both individual and collective. Meaningful healing happens when people can access support that sees their whole identity, honours where they come from, and recognizes the strengths already present within themselves, their families, and their communities.

Vision

We envision a future where Black people have equitable access to culturally grounded mental health and wellness supports; where Black knowledge, identity, and lived experience shape how care is created and delivered; and where communities have the resources, spaces, and opportunities to define wellness for themselves.

Our vision extends beyond responding to challenges. We seek to help build conditions in which Black individuals, families, and communities can experience belonging, joy, healing, opportunity, and collective well-being across generations.

What guides us

Cultural grounding, dignity, equity, community knowledge, connection, and collective care.

We intentionally centre the strengths that have sustained Black communities across generations: culture, family, community knowledge, connection, creativity, spirituality, resilience, and collective care.

Our work

Culturally grounded pathways to wellness

Three Wave Wellness is at the beginning. We have registered as a nonprofit association and secured a space in East Preston. This is the shape of what we are building. Programs, dates, and how to take part will be shared as each one is ready.

  • Counselling and wellness services

Culturally responsive mental health and wellness support for individuals, families, and communities, shaped by Black clinical expertise and lived experience.

  • Group circles and support groups

Themed circles around grief, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and wellness, and support groups organized around shared life stages and experiences.

  • Community education and gatherings

Wellness talks, workshops, awareness campaigns, and community events, developed with local clinicians and community partners.
